Our story
Since 1999 when our paths first crossed in the scenic landscape of Dalarna, playing in Orkester Norden, a Nordic orchestra for young musicians, we have deepened our professional relationship as members of the Nordic Chamber Orchestra in Sundsvall. Subsequently, as we were blessed with a family of two wonderful children, 2012 we took a leap into the big unknown Stockholm music life as freelancers and are now striking a new chord as we find each other anew as an intimate duo.
Beside playing double bass Eric arranges most of our music. Susanne, who is both a high soprano and violinist, has always treated her two instruments equally. It is our pleasure to present a unique repertoire for a ”trio of two” which highlights more than one unusual instrument combination. We have mainly received our education in the domain of classical music, yet go out of our way to continuously search for treasures that other genres have to offer.
Susanne Francett
has received her education as violinist at the Stockholm Royal College of Music and Hochschule für Musik Hanns Eisler Berlin and as coloratura soprano at the Academy of Chamber Music and Opera at Mälardalen University and at Stockholm Opera Studio. She has worked on a regular basis as violinist in the Nordic Chamber Orchestra and Gävle Symfoniorkester and as a singer in the Swedish Radio Choir and Eric Ericson Chamber Choir. She frequently performs as a soloist at Church concerts. Among her many passions as a musician is to constantly develop and to interact with her audience on all levels.
Eric Francett
has received his education as double bass player at the Sibelius Academy in Helsinki and Hochschule für Musik und Theater München. He initiated his career as Principal Double Bass at the Nordic Chamber Orchestra and Nordic Chamber Ensemble in Sundsvall 2005 - 2012. Since moving to Värmdö Island in the Stockholm archipelago in 2012 he launched his company Konsert Kompakt and has contributed to the creation of a unique chamber music repertoire for Duo Francett. As an orchestral musician he is frequently hired by Swedish top orchestras such as the Royal Stockholm Philharmonics. One of his motivating passions as a musician is to find unique venues waiting to be discovered as concert scenes.
